Facility/Non Facility Pricing Change for Professional Providers

Effective 5/1/09 OHC will be checking the place of service code listed on each claim to determine the correct payment level for each CPT code.

Providers who do procedures/surgeries in their own offices may be entitled to additional payment for the cost of equipment and other technology they are using to perform the service. These are generally considered payable as “non facility services”.

These are generally services that could also be performed at a hospital or surgery center location.

Providers who do procedures in a facility setting, i.e. hospital or surgery center may not be entitled to additional revenue because they are only providing the professional component to the service. The cost of the equipment and other technology is reimbursed to the facility. These are referred to as “facility services”.

This means many procedure/surgery codes will now have two reimbursements associated with each CPT code, a facility rate and a non facility rate. In order to determine the correct reimbursement, payors/OHC will need to look at the place of service code to determine the correct amount to reprice or pay.

New Provider Search Pages

GOOD NEWS - We have listened and responded to your suggestions about the OHC website.
Here are the new enhancements:

Mile radius-Searches can now be done by zip code and mile radius from 5 to 100 miles. This search is from the middle of the selected zip code.

Provider office directions-Once a search is completed, there is an opportunity to drill down further on any provider by “clicking” on their name. This will provide the provider’s address and phone number. Then there is a selection to view a map and obtain directions to the provider’s office.

OHC now has preferred providers. These are providers who have been selected for their quality and pricing in their respective specialties. These providers will appear first on any network search for their designated specialty.

OHC now has network-wide providers. These are providers who can provide their services to any member in the OHC network regardless of their address.
