Preferred Health Choice

The core product of Ohio Health Choice is the Preferred Health Choice. Providing superb access extending throughout Ohio and its contiguous borders. All physicians are contracted using an aggressive RBRVS fee schedule, which offers per procedure rates on all CPT codes. Facilities are contracted using three financial methods: per diems, percent off of billed charges, and case rates.

The Ohio Health Choice PPO Network of providers consists of primary care physicians, and specialists including chiropractors, optometrists, behavioral health practitioners, and podiatrists.

Preferred Health Choice provides a full range of ancillary services at contracted rates within one statewide network. The continuity of care is assured for the member by providing as many ancillary services as possible with the majority of them being contracted at case rates and our RBRVS fee schedule. Ohio Health Choice has contracts with the following types of ancillary care providers: ambulatory care, home infusion, audiology services, biometrics reading, chemical dependency/substance abuse centers, dialysis, extended care facilities, free standing emergency rooms, home health services, home medical equipment, hospice, laboratory services, orthotic-prosthetic services, physical/occupational therapy, radiology services, skilled nursing, sleep disorder services, speech therapy, vocational & work rehabilitation facilities and urgent care centers.

Access Health Choice

Access Health Choice is designed for employers who want to control health care costs for their companies and help to protect their employees from the rising costs of obtaining quality health care. Through this managed indemnity PPO network program, employers can begin to transition their organization into managed care gradually without an initial change in their health insurance plan design. Access Health Choice savings can be significant. Insureds are educated regarding the availability of Access Health Choice providers and in turn, will realize a financial benefit for using an Access Health Choice provider. Access Health Choice includes a broad network of preferred providers, including primary care physicians and specialists as well as chiropractors, oral surgeons, podiatrists and optometrists. Hospitals and allied care facilities such as urgent care centers, freestanding laboratories and surgery centers are also included.

Select Health Choice

Select Health Choice is an exclusive network that includes hospitals, primary care and specialty physicians, and other ancillary providers to meet the members medical care needs. Members are given incentives through payor designed benefit plans to select participating providers. Select Health Choice offers the highest degree of savings when medical care is needed, featuring access to a smaller, more tightly controlled network of hospitals, physicians and ancillary providers. Select Health Choice providers are currently available in the Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo, Youngstown and Warren areas. This program features stronger, more aggressive discounts.

All network participants, must meet the Ohio Health Choice credentialing standards, agree to refer patients to other participating providers and comply with Ohio Health Choice utilization management requirements
